In 2013, the Society applied to the Lord Lyon for a Grant of Arms. This was duly granted and Letters Patent received. At the Society’s Annual Business Meeting on Thursday 4th June 2015, the President, Professor Mike Greaves, welcomed Ross Herald Extraordinary representing the Lord Lyon, King of Arms to the meeting. He was accompanied by Mr Alex Green, Procurator Fiscal to the Lyon Court and Mrs Jenny Sheriffs, Deputy Lieutenant. Ross Herald, who was wearing Levee Dress with Decorations, read the Letters Patent, that is to say he “proclaimed and then formally presented the Letters Patent”.
